At Oregon Angling Arts, this isn’t just a job — it’s a way of life. Sam has been fly fishing since 1992, and has been fishing Oregon rivers for the last 20 years, learning every bend, pocket, and hatch by heart. That time on the water taught him more than technique — it taught him patience, respect, and how to truly share the river. Today, we pass that on with every trip we guide.
Sam has fished everything from Wisconsin spring creeks to pike and smallmouth in the north and extensively in the Rockies and the northwest. He was born in Missoula, so Montana has a special place in his heart.
We believe a great fishing trip starts long before the first cast.
It’s about knowing the waters, listening to your goals, and crafting an experience that fits you — not just any angler. That’s why every trip we run is personal, local, and built with intention.
We’ve spent decades learning Oregon’s rivers — and we’ll put you right where the fish are.
Every trip is built around your pace, goals, and skill level — no cookie-cutter experiences here.
Every trip means something different. For some, it’s their first fish. For others, it’s a moment shared with family, or a peaceful day unplugged from everything else. These smiles, these stories — they’re why we do what we do. We’re here to help you create more than just a memory. We’re here to help you make it one worth telling.
From first-timers to seasoned casters — we’ve got your spot on the river.
